Cadogan favoring Big Ten schools?

Three-star tight end Sherard Cadogan has taken four of his five allotted official visits, so he has plenty of information to sift through at this point in the recruiting process.

His last trip was to Michigan State two weekends ago, and prior to that he had already been to Pittsburgh, Wisconsin and West Virginia, in that order.

Shortly after leaving the Michigan State campus he had good things to say about the Spartans. Now that he has had a little more time to think about that trip he's still raving about it.

"It was good," he said. "It's a great campus and the players are great. I had a good talk with the coaches. Coach (Mark) Dantonio is a great coach. I really love Michigan State. It was similar to Wisconsin. It was almost the same thing, stadium-wise and atmosphere-wise."

Based on his later comments, it sure sounds as though Cadogan is leaning towards those two Big Ten schools. Would it be fair to say that?

"I love the Big Ten competition," he said. "Right now everything's even, but right now I really like the Big Ten, too. I've always loved the Big Ten schools like Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State. It would be a hard decision but I like the conference."

One X-factor might be South Carolina. Cadogan is allowed to take one more official visit and it appears as though the Gamecocks may be the beneficiaries of that trip.

"That's where I'm looking at," he said. "I'm gonna talk to my family and the coaches and see what day works, and how it fits with everything."

He has been slated to take a trip to South Carolina on November 13, but that obviously appears to be up in the air.

Cherry Hill (N.J.) Camden Catholic has one more regular season game and it appears as though they are going to be a four-seed in the state playoffs if they win that game.

He has been lining up at tight end, defensive end and outside linebacker for his high school team. In Cadogan's last game he scored a 70-yard touchdown, and his team went on to win in overtime after a two-point conversion.
