August 19, 2013HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - Tim Fusina has been selected as the head coach of the Centenary College men's basketball team announced Director of Athletics Billie Jo Blackwell on Wednesday.
"We are excited to add Coach Fusina to our coaching staff," said Blackwell. "Tim brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the position and I know he is excited for the challenge of working with our current and future student-athletes to elevate Centenary basketball back to the top of the Colonial States Athletic Conference."
Fusina has served as the assistant men's basketball coach at Washington & Jefferson College since 2008. He helped guide W&J to one of the most successful periods in program history as the Presidents claimed the 2009 ECAC South Region championship and earned 20 victories for just the second time in team history during his tenure. Under Fusina's tutelage, five of his players garnered all-conference accolades.
"I want to thank Billie Jo Blackwell and the entire search committee for giving me the opportunity to lead the men's basketball program at Centenary College," said Fusina. "I am excited beyond words to be a part of such a great athletic department and college community. I look forward to mentoring our student-athletes on and off the court."
Prior to arriving at Washington & Jefferson, Fusina spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg. At UPG, he coordinated recruiting and prepared scouting reports, while aiding in game planning and preparation.
A native of Charleroi, Pa., Fusina earned his bachelor's (2007) and master's (2008) degrees in sport management from California University of Pennsylvania.
Fusina is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Basketball Coaches (NABC). In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, he has also served as an instructor at numerous summer basketball camps.
