NJ Teams at Summer Jam Fest

The Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest Tournament was held July 18-20 at Spooky Nook Complex in Manheim Pennsylvania. This huge event featured four different age divisions.

17 & Under Division

There were 104 teams competing.

The NJ teams were Philly Ballhawks, Got Game, Kingdom Elite, United Ballers. Team NJ Elite, NJ Elite, Cyclones, Nexxt Level Sports, Raritan Roundballers, Soldiers, ShoreShots Dunne, Pirates, Jersey Shore Swish, Game 7 Sharks, Wayne PAL, Prestige Patriots, King Street Kings, Hoop Heaven.

In first round games:

The Philly Ballhawks lost to Westchester Knights. Kingdom Elite lost to the Syracuse Nets. The United Ballers lost to FST. Team NJ Elite fell to Team Supernatural. The Cyclones ousted Brandywine Brigade. Nexxt Level Sports lost to Minute Men. The Raritan Roundballers thwarted Virginia Hokies Elite. The Soldiers beat the Truth. The ShoreShots Dunne held off Positive Image. The Pirates held off Capital City Lightning. Jersey Shore Swish lost to HC Elite. Game 7 Sharks were tamed by the York Ballers. Wayne PAL got past Virginia Select 65-34. 6-foot-8 Don Bosco Sr. Chris Downing and 5-foot-9 Don Bosco Sr. Amanie Craddock divided 28. The Prestige Patriots caged the Mountain Cats. The King Street Kings thwarted Cecil Kirk.

In the second round:

Got Game beat the HC Dream Team. The ShoreShots Largey got past Open Season 59-57 in overtime. 6-foot-2 Shore Sr. Kevin Bloodgood netted 22, 18 after halftime. NJ Elite lost to Syracuse Select. The Cyclones fell to Virginia Elite. The Raritan Roundballers were beaten by Mid Atlantic Select. The Soldiers lost to Nike Baltimore Elite. The ShoreShots Dunne were eliminated by ICC Truth. The Pirates were bounced by Team Bounce. Wayne PAL lost to York Ballers. Prestige Patriots lost to Loudon United 73-66 despite 22 from 6-foot-3 Linden Sr. James Julius. The King Street Kings fell to Stamford Peace. Team Final Black ousted Granite State Raiders. Hoop Heaven halted South Central Select.

In the third round:

Got Game edged BSA 66-61 in overtime. 6-foot-6 Union Catholic Sr. Isaiah Still and 6-foot-6 Newark Tech Sr. Jordan Zagadou divided 28. The Roadrunners lost to the NYC Jayhawks. The ShoreShots Largey lost to PK Flash. Wayne PAL lost to the Middlesex Magic. Team Final Black fell to DC Warriors. Hoop Heaven beat CM3 Elite.

In the Sweet 16:

Got Game fell to Expressions. Hoop Heaven beat House of Sports.

In the quarterfinals:

Hoop Heaven was eliminated by ICC Truth.

16 & Under Division

There were 68 teams competing.

The NJ teams were: the Soldiers, South Jersey Blitz, Central Jersey Hawks Blue, Jersey Shore Warriors Blue, Team Final Blue, NJ Tar Heels, Team Jersey Elite, Pure, Team Final Black, Central Jersey Future Stars, Radiant Suns, Jersey Shore Warriors, ShoreShots Rice, Roadrunners, Central Jersey Hawks and South Jersey All Stars.

In preliminary round action: The Soldiers lost to Global Sports.

In the first round:

SJ Blitz lost to the NYC Jayhawks. The CJ Hawks Blue fell to Team PA. The Jersey Shore Warriors Blue were beaten by the DC Blue Devils. Team Final Blue thwarted South Central Select. NJ Tar Heels fell to House of Sports. Team Jersey Elite ousted Cecil Kirk. Pure fell to Team Philly. Team Final Black lost to the CJ Future Stars. The Radiant Suns beat the Brooklyn Rens. The JS Warriors Gold overcame Sons 4 Life. ShoreShots Rice put out Team Blaze. The Roadrunners fell to Metroball DC. The CJ Hawks were beaten by Team Impact. SJ All Stars were ousted by HC Elite.

In the second round:

Team Final Blue fell to House of Sports. Team Jersey Elite lost to Team Philly. The CJ Future Stars were beaten by MD #D. The JS Warriors Gold eclipsed the Radiant Suns. ShoreShots Rice lost to Fairfax Stars.

In the Sweet 16:

The JS Warriors Gold dropped MD 3D.

In the quarterfinals:

The JS Warriord Gold held back House of Sports.

In the semis: The JS Warriors were struck down by DC Thunder.

15 & Under Division

There were 48 teams competing.

The NJ programs were: Team NJ Elite, South Jersey Blitz, Roadrunners, Hoop Heaven Elite, Tar Heels, Crusaders, South Jersey Jazz, Jersey Shore Warriors,

In the first round:

Team NJ Elite lost to Team Belief. The SJ Blitz handled Team PA. Hoop Heaven Elite lost to the LI Lightning. The NJ Tar Heels fell to York Ballers. The Crusaders lost to Crusader Nation.

In second round contests:

Team Final Black lost to Team Belief. The SJ Blitz beat Harlem United. The Roadrunners ran past Central PA Elite. The SJ Jazz lost to Castle Athletics. The JS Warriors thwarted the Philly Ballhawks. Sports U beat Cecil Kirk.

In the Round of 16:

The SJ Blitz fell to Team Belief. The Roadrunners ousted Uncommon Bulls. The SJ Jazz topped the JS Warriors. Sports U overcame LI Lightning.

In the quarters:

The Roadrunners fell to Team Nelson. Sports U quieted the SJ Jazz.

In the semifinals:

Sports U lost to the York Ballers.

14 & Under Division

24 teams were battling in this division.

The two NJ teams were: Team Speed and the Roadrunners.

In first round games:

Team Speed lost to ICC Truth.

In the round of 16:

The Roadrunners lost to the NY Dragons.
