Houston added a key piece to the puzzle late Wednesday when the Cougars landed a commitment from Metuchen (NJ) TE Devin Miller.

Miller recently took a two day visit out to Houston on the 28th and 29th of March and also earned an offer from the Cougar staff while on that same visit.

"The City, campus size, the people, and some of my family live close by in Houston and Dallas" said Miller. “I love the way that coach Herman uses his tight ends. There is so much excitement around the program within the city itself. Also, the instant relationship I formed with TE coach (Corby) Meekins in my short time there played a big part in making my visit so great.”

Miller seemed to be relieved that the entire process is finally over.

"It is relieving, but surreal because this time it's mine. It feels like I've been a part of the recruiting process forever - taking trips through the years with my brothers."

For those of you who don’t know, Devin is the younger brother of former Oklahoma WR DeJuan Miller and current Rutgers OL Dorian Miller. He told us at NJVarsity that there was no pressure at all to follow in one of his older brothers footsteps.

Miller held two other offers from Rutgers, and Syracuse when he committed to the Houston Cougars. He has also told NJVarsity.com that a few other schools have reached out and were close to offering prior to his commitment. Miller is currently ranked the #15 overall prospect in the state of New Jersey per NJVarsity. Stay tuned for more on Miller and other 2017 prospects right here on NJVarsity.com
