LB Ryan Dickens back on open market and fielding plenty of interest

Raritan High School (Raritan, N.J.) class of 2017 linebacker Ryan Dickens is back on the open market and looking to find a new school. The former UConn commit is currently in the midst of his senior wrestling season while balancing out what has quickly become a busy recruitment.

“I've already been offered by Rhode Island,” Dickens said. “I have had contact with Lafayette, Fordham, Buffalo, Bucknell, Cornell, UPenn, Holy Cross, Georgetown, and schools like Syracuse, and Rutgers.”

Dickens is set to take an official visit to Rhode Island this weekend and is coming off a senior season, which saw him register 83 tackles and 13 TFLs.

“I am 6-foot-2 and I am wrestling at 195 [pounds], but my playing weight is 215," Dickens said. "I was All-Shore and All-Division, a Maxwell Award winner and an All-State honorable mention. I have had over 300 tackles in my career at Raritan and helped lead them to a state title in 2015. I am a physical downhill linebacker that loves to hit. I am a leader and I love the game of football.”

Meanwhile, on the wrestling mat, Dickens is putting together a solid senior season.

“I am ranked No.5 in the Shore [Conference] and wrestling has made me into an all-around better football player, from balance to body control all the way to mental discipline.”

In the classroom, Dickens has also continued to be a top performer and mentioned what he is looking for in a college.

“I have a 3.9 GPA on a 4.0 scale. I want to study business. And I want to school that will be the best fit for me academically and as a football and where I am wanted.”

Here is a look at Dickens' senior season highlights.
