2015 In Review: The Red Wings were 9-3, winning the North Jersey Section 2 Group 1 championship by beating Brearley, after beating Weequahic and Glen Ridge. They scored 402 points for a 33.5 average, while allowing 174 for a 14.5 average, including five shutouts. Wins included Shabazz, St. Anthony, and Memorial, while their losses were to Lincoln, Hudson Catholic, and Cedar Grove.

Departures: RB/DB Marquis Roberts - Milford Academy (perp), WR/DB Hafiz Gorderel - Milford Academy (prep), WR/DB Kenny Lopez - Montclair State, OL/DL Luis Negron - Kean, TE/LB Isaiah James - Alabama Prep (Alabama), WR/DB Diquil Neal - West Virginia Wesleyan

Offense: Hoboken runs the spread and returns five starters.Back at quarterback is senior Wilden Germain (5-foot-11, 195). Running back has senior Tariq Felton (5-foot-11, 185), who is supported by senior Derrance Moore (5-foot-10, 190). At h-back is junior Ricky Colon (6-foot-3, 230), a defensive starter.

The wide receivers will be senior Rajuan Herron (6-foot-0, 180) - who is playing his first year of football, freshman Nyshon Freeman (5-foot-11, 180), and senior Kareem Torres (5-foot-7, 155). Pushing for time are junior Jacob Perry (5-foot-9, 160) and senior Lonnie Woodard (5-foot-10, 170).

Four starters are back on the line: senior left tackle Micah Smith (6-foot-2, 285) - who moves from center, senior left guard Keith Boyd (6-foot-2, 320), senior right guard Eddie Wilson (6-foot-3, 307), and senior right tackle Robert Booker (6-foot-1, 310). The center will be senior Jesse Medina (5-foot-11, 305), while the top subs are sophomore guard Louis Oquendo (6-foot-0, 220) and sophomore Tyshaun McClain (6-foot-2, 215).

Defense: The Red Wings run multiple three and four-man fronts, returning seven starters. Colon and Smith return at the ends, with freshman Ali Mendez (6-foot-1, 225) in reserve. The tackles bring back Wilson and Boyd, with Booker rotating in.

Three linebackers are back: Felton and Moore inside and Germain outside. Playing opposite Germain is junior Kevin Winston (5-foot-11, 220). Reserves will be Oquendo inside and McClain on the outside.

Special Teams: Sophomore Raymond Negron is the kicker and Germain will punt. The return men will be Germain and Felton.

Concerns: How well and how fast the secondary jells.

Recruits: Germain has offers from Monmouth, Wagner, and Maine, plus he is being heavily recruited by Army. Wilson has offers from West Virginia, Monmouth, Wagner, and Maine; he is still 16 years old and may go to prep school first. Boyd and Booker are being recruited by Wagner, Delaware State, and other 1-AA and D2 schools. Felton has Monmouth and Wagner offers, with interest from Army. The sleeper is Smith.

The juniors have Colon, Winston, and Moore playing in college, but the top prospect will be the freshman, Freeman, who has blazing speed.
