US Naval Academy making moves in New Jersey
The United State Naval Academy isn’t considered a powerhouse when it comes to football recruiting, but they sure know where to find talent. The Naval Academy class of 2017 so far consists of 4 kids and 3 of which are from the state of New Jersey. So far Navy has landed the following New Jersey kids:
RB Jelani McCargo 6-foot 225lbs. (Woodrow Wilson)
Current Offers – Cornell, Delaware State, Louisiana Tech, Navy, NC State
Showing Interest – Army, Boston College, Illinois, Monmouth, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Temple
OL Peter Nestrowitz 6-foot-3 280lbs. (Paramus Catholic)
Current Offers – Air Force, Army, East Carolina, Navy, Virginia
Showing Interest – North Carolina, Purdue, Temple
DE Tony Brown 6-foot-3 200lbs (Timber Creek)
Current Offers – Army, Cornell, Navy, Temple
Showing Interest – Boston College, Connecticut, NC State
Navy finished last season with a record of 11-2 and also had some big wins over Memphis, Pittsburgh and more. The Midshipmen finished the year ranked as high as #18 in the country per the AP poll. If the midshipmen continue to pull kids like this from powerhouse NJ programs I think it’s safe to say that midshipmen will be on the verge of multiple double digit win seasons.
