Wayne Hills moved to the Mahwah 31, but turned it over on downs. Mahwah was moving the ball near midfield when linebacker Mike Waller forced quarterback John Ebeling to fumble on Mahwah's 42, with cornerback Ronnie Driesse picking it up and going down the sideline for the score; making it 10-0, with just under six minutes left in the half. Wayne Hills started another drive with four minutes left in the half, taking to the air game, attempting eight passes. They capped the drive with Dowling scoring from the one yard line with 1:25 left and it was 17-0.

They took advantage on the following play, as Jamal Clay found Dan Buonocore on the halfback option pass for a touchdown and it was 17-6. Mahwah was forced to punt on the next series, but trouble struck when a bad snap put the ball on the 16 yard line. Wayne Hills scored five plays later when Quinn found Ogden for a five yard score, making it 24-6, with less than six minutes left in the quarter. Mahwah answered back when Clay took the ensuing kickoff to the Wayne Hills 49. Eight plays later, Ebeling found Bunocore for a six yard score. The same combination struck again on the two point conversion, making it 24-14 with two minutes left in the quarter.

That drive featured a 23yard pass from Quinn to tight end Brian Dickman to the 50. They capped off the scoring when Dowling scored from eight yards out with four minutes left. The drive started in good field position as Ogden intercepted on his four yard line and returned it 43 yards.
Play of the Game: Quinn hitting Ogden on a beautiful pass, with Ogden making an over the shoulder catch for a fourth quarter touchdown.
Game Balls: Quinn and Ogden were the two best players for Wayne Hills. Ogden is the team's best all around player and Quinn is well on his way to becoming a very good quarterback. Quinn completed 18 of 25, for 220 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Ogden caught two touchdown passes and his interception in the fourth quarter broke Mahwah's back. Driesse made a nice run running along the sideline for the score on a fumble return. Reserve tight end Joey Russo made two receptions on the night.
For Mahwah, the sophomore wide receiving duo of Dan Buonocore and Joe Kearney opened some eyes, making plays. Another sophomore, Karl Kreshpane was making numerous tackles from the secondary. Clay played very good football in the second half.
Audibles:
Wayne Hills Head Coach Chris Olsen – "Mahwah's a good team. They have some skill and the quarterback's a good player. The key was defending their quarterback. They played the run tough. They came into the game trying to stop the run and we probably would have done the same thing. If we throw the ball as much as we did tonight and Quinn's playing like he is, it's going to be tough to stop us."
Wayne Hills cornerback/running back Ronnie Driesse – "On the fumble recovery, I got the ball and saw daylight. That's it. I just ran for the end zone. It was a tough game and we fought it out until the end."
Wayne Hills quarterback Mike Quinn – "I'm getting more comfortable, coming along. I think our offense is clicking now and our team is looking real good."
Quinn on the 35 yard touchdown to Ogden – "We had a different play call, but we (audibled) because they were playing man, he ran a go route, and he caught it."
